Charlie Cellar

Charlie focuses on identifying and evaluating potential acquisitions and partnering with Cranemere’s operating companies. He currently works with the teams at Velocity Vehicle Group, Crossroads Equipment Lease & Finance, and Outpatient Imaging Affiliates. Prior to joining Cranemere, Charlie was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Global Industrials Group at Jefferies. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

What I like best about Cranemere is the breadth of prior experiences that my coworkers bring to the team. In addition to decades of direct investing experience, we have team members who have founded and sold their own businesses, served as CEOs, and worked in the White House. After my time in investment banking, I knew I wanted to further develop my career with investors who had experience working within organizations at various stages of their lifecycles, and I’ve found that at Cranemere.

If I weren’t in finance, I’d like to build a business of my own. I launched a small waste management company on campus while I was in college as my first stint at running my own business. I found the process of having to learn everything on the fly to be unbelievably satisfying. Through my experience at Cranemere, I have spent time with brilliant founders who have built incredible companies, and I am eager to apply what I have learned from those experiences.

When not working, I am often finding ways to enjoy the outdoors. Whether that’s walking my dog to the park, taking the train up the Hudson for a hike, scuba diving, or snowboarding out West, I look forward to any opportunity to get outside with friends and family.
