Christopher Mahan

Chris has been acquiring and building businesses for over 30 years with a focus on innovative companies that are leaders in their respective industries. He retired in 2026 having joined Cranemere at its founding.

Prior to becoming a Senior Advisor, he led the firm’s Industrial team, which encompasses activities in industrial services, manufacturing and design. He has led, co-led or been an integral executive with respect to the acquisition and development of 15 operating companies, including five of Cranemere’s operating businesses. In addition, during the last several years, his teams completed over 25 add-on acquisitions to those Cranemere operating businesses.

He serves on the Board of Directors of Exemplis, Velocity Vehicle Group and Crossroads Equipment Lease & Finance and served as Chairman of the Board of the Engineered Stone Group and System Pavers.

Prior to Cranemere, he served as Chairman of the Board of both Convenience Food Systems and CPG International (now AZEK). Chris was at AEA Investors for 20 years where he retired as a Partner and CFO. He started his career at Bain & Company and was an original partner of Ocean Bridge Partners. He graduated from Amherst College with honors.
