Jeff Case

Jeff is Senior Managing Director and oversees the company’s portfolio management and new investment origination efforts. He serves on the Board of Directors of several Cranemere investments.

Jeff has over two decades of investing experience. During his tenure at Advent International, which began in 2001, he advised on 18 investments across a range of industries. Before Advent, Mr. Case worked at Bowles Hollowell Conner, a leading middle-market M&A advisory firm, and in the corporate development group at Danaher Corporation, where he focused on transaction execution.

Mr. Case earned a BA in Economics from Davidson College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

The qualities I admire most in others… are empathy and transparency. These are the foundations of trust and what enable long-term relationships to thrive. You can find talent in many places, but these qualities are what really matter.

I like working with founders/entrepreneurs because… they really, deeply care. They care about their business, their people, and their legacy in ways that cannot be fabricated artificially. Their business is a part of their identity and needs to be appreciated and respected as such by us, as their partner.

I am a big fan of… healthy debates. This is much easier said than done for many companies. With a firm foundation of trust like we have at Cranemere, talking through complex, complicated, and difficult subjects is what leads to great decision-making.

I define success as… being proud of what has been accomplished. As a team, pride is incredibly powerful and ties long-lasting bonds. As an individual, pride is a feeling you can have forever.

When I’m not working, I’m… with my wife and three girls, following sports, or playing a game of Scrabble.
